Adsense clickers group & Understanding the business
I just visited DigitalPoint and was shocked to see this post:
Adsense clickers group.

Hurting the business
Kind of a short post and this guy really doesn’t understand the business. Let’s put aside all that “Google will ban you stuff” and think about how this kind of behavior hurt the business. When clicking on an Adsense ad, it gives the publisher some money, but it also cost a company some money. Now, imagine if we all start to click ads for no purpose without being interested by the actual ad: this will mean thousands of companies will spend thousands of dollars and see absolutely no results. These companies will eventually stop publishing ads through the Adwords program and that my friend, means less money for the publishers (us…)! Adsense works so well because there is a good pool of advertisers, a good pool of publishers and Google is doing a good job at banning webmasters trying to trick the program and kill the business. While they do a good job at banning people, the system isn’t perfect and it’s possible to trick the system for sometime.
Less money
It’s really sad for every honest webmaster to see people running an Adsense clickers group because in the long run, it means less money. If less advertisers decide to advertise using Google Adwords because people are complete idiots and run clickers group, it will mean a lot less money for every webmaster out there, including members of clicking groups.

You know there are many black hat tactics out there for adsense and other programs…I have been approached several times…but out of fear of doing wrong..I have declined…and one particular “pro-blogger” out there, that is what he did to get to where he is now…he was/is a member of a private forum for black hatters….
You are right about all the black hat tricks. Black hat tricks are usually to trick the google ranking system and get more traffic. The users would still click legitimately on ads. Thanks for commenting!
Seen that many times and hope that google will catch up with them for the sake of the rest of us…
I’m not normally mean spirited, and it’s quite rare that I take Google’s side, but is there a way to alert Google on this….these guys really are doing much more harm then good.

These are the kinds of idiots that f’ it up for everyone. I agree with Dennis, this should be reported as it will harm us in the long run.

Yeah, I think some people on the forum reported the guy.

@ZK: Why can’t you apply for an Adsense account?
these guys have been one of the reasons Adsense does not pay anything these days. the max i got from one of the click from my visitor was $.85.
It used to be better, you’re right Abhinav! But still…Adsense is the best way to monetize a website that doesn’t get 20,000 unique a day!
Yes very dissapointing. There are always those who are out for themselves and hopefully the PPC people have the technology to stop them. This does not help the advertisers or the publishers on a temporary basis but in the long term, the more this issue can be highlighted, the more it will be totally frowned upon by any decent people.
Hi! I´m with you. That is not the right way to make money!
This is why I'm very choosey about which sites I use Adsense. I've been a victim of click fraud by people I've outranked and it's not fun. People that try these tactics are a flash in the pan but the effects on honest webmasters is far reaching. One thing is for sure, Google will continue to keep pace with the scammers and hopefully keep Adsense as a viable option for us to monetize our sites and continue to provide an enjoyable user experience for people seearhing the Internet for items they need.
