Technology, business and change

Filling The Gaps

Life (mostly business) Is All About Filling The Gaps. Most products try to fill the gaps between two other products. It's OK, it just can't go on forever as the gaps become smaller.

Having Ideas

The easy part: having ideas. Hard part: communicating them effectively.

Best Vs. Most Popular

"Best" and "most popular" are often confused. They rarely meet.

What Design Can And Cannot Do

What design can and cannot do: design can help a good idea spread, but can't save a bad idea.

Apple iPad: Marketing Strategy And Tech Blogs

Apple marketing did its job correctly when launching the iPad (Make you think it's an exceptional product). The troubling part is how the tech blogs over-hyped the whole thing.

Creative Thinking Inside The Box

Thinking outside the box is overrated. Constraints exists and creative thinking inside the box is actually what matters.

Thinking outside the box is highly overrated: constraints exists in probably 99.9% of everything we do, whether we like it or not. This makes thinking outside the box very difficult, if not impossible, in most situations.

Creative thinking inside the box (the constraints) is essential and to me, a more important skill than thinking outside the box.

It Was A Pretty Good Idea

The creativity process can't go through bureaucracy: great ideas get stuck in the never-ending bureaucracy vortex

Pissing People Off

Changing things and/or trying to make a difference means pissing at least someone off. It's not a bad thing.

It’s Rarely Black Or White

When solving problems and seeking answers, easy answers are usually located at the extremes, while the game is in the much more complex "gray zone". The solution to a problem is rarely black or white.

Change, Passion and People Support

When changing things, as the level of change grows, the people support drastically drops. That's where passion comes into play.
