SEO – Cut the crap
This is going to be a short one, but a great one. Not because I have great stuff to tell you, but because I have great stuff to share. I was wasting time on You Tube and it actually ended up being the best wasted time ever! I have a video to share with you guys about SEO Best practices and this video is from Wil Reynolds (a SEO dude) and I really like him. You can check out his You Tube profile for a lot of great stuff you don’t want to miss, but here’s the quick video I was talking about (let me know what you think!):

Interesting stuff. Although contradictions like this just leads to more info overload.

Ah just another persons opinion on what SEO is all about. Its funny you might find the next guy say totally opposite to what thus guy says..haha
Bruno Augers last blog post..Connecting through Social Networking
I watched a bunch here. Interesting!
I already have yawning reflex to SEO. Yeah, it’s huge business blah-blah-blah… Well, my blog is not huge and is not business.
I had once very weird bug with java that took me months (!) to solve. It was not documented well and it was almost impossible even ot figure out what to google (that’s why it took me plenty of time and numerous attempts).
So I wrote very detailed and thorough post with description, error messages, reasons for problem and path it took to solve. That propably made my readers fell asleep that evening. But now it’s hard to encounter that bug and google something other than my post whule trying to fix it.
It’s not insane SE traffic. But it makes me happy every time I see referrer because it means I helped someone to solve same issue and I was only one that could (or bothered to).
I write posts. It’s great when I manage to write posts people search for – that’s simplest and purest SEO in my opinion.
Rarsts last blog post..Entry for two WordPress-related contests
@Dennis: I agree that no one agree hehe
@Bruno: Yep, just another opinion but the guy seems to know his stuff…ANyway!
@Adele: Thanks for dropping a line
@Rarst: hehe I agree, it’s nice when people reach your content and that content helps them. I don’t go crazy with SEO either, but I do care about it. I mean, I try to optimize H tags across the page and that kind of stuff and I also try to get quality backlinks, but I don’t have time to really go into extensive keyword search and stuff like that.
SEO is not my thing. I go more for social media.
Franklin Bishops last blog post..5 Types of Blog Posts for More Traffic
I read and saw a lot about SEO. There are probably a thousand approaches, techniques and methods of SEO optimization but the objective behind all this is to build traffic – thats it. And to achieve it, your content needs to be really good! besides you need to socialize and topping of marketing is essential. This all is sufficient to make your blog popular and draw visitors. The rest is all worthless. Its my personal opinion as Wil Reynolds have one. Nice post though.

@JR – and one of the most wrongly discussed, which is what hurts.

@Franklin: Cool, social media is the next big thing man. Nice you get in it early!
@Rituraj: Yes, I think there are a coupe of basic techniques you have to use all the time to ensure Google loves you. Socializing is a great way to get your brand out there.
@JR: haha probably yes!
@Yan: Not sure I’m getting that one…
@Leila: Aright, I’ll check his videos, thanks for the suggestion!
@Dennis: Probably right as well. A lot of people don’t know a crap about SEO but pretend they do!
@Ms Sparky: No problems, thanks for dropping a line!

I say SEO my friend and SEO all the way! It is part of the key to success. SEO is no good without proper content, but it gives your website an extra boost.
You were right about that, it was short but powerful. I notice you have a lot of long posts but this one provided a lot of value.

being an seo you need to be creative as well you know how to use strategies
Thanks for the seo video. It was quick, but carried a good message. There are so many viewpoints and strategies with seo today, but it is always good to see another viewpoint. thanks.
From a guy like myself who has been doing SEO before it was called SEO, it is a moving target. This guy is pretty good. Common sense is the root of good SEO.
Hey Guys, a TON of new videos are coming I start rolling them out in the next 7-10 days
Thanks for your continued support!
This is one of those videos that can help anyone. If you spend some time searching out the latest seo techniques you will find that most people are still using guidelines that were written back in 2001. It's great to finally get some up to date info.
Thanks for sharing,
Stanley
Nice topic. I've been cramming on this matter. The video helped a lot.
