Start of the month, increase your technorati authority
October 2nd, 2008It’s going to be a quick one guys as it’s getting late here and I didn’t have time to post today. At least I’m honest with you guys, I won’t try to fill space!
I will point you back to a little something I posted a while ago about how to increase your technorati authority. It’s a neat trick that really works well at the beginning of the month because it relies on the top commentator plugin. Anyway, it’s all in the post, so have a look and take this opportunity to increase your authority!
I personnaly really need to work on this because my authority got all screwed up when I switched the domain name from seohorror.com to frogstr.com!

@Hussein: Are you still commenting a lot? I found out the hard way on one of my blog that the Technorati ranking tend to decrease fast if you kind of let it go!
@Simon: Good stuff mate! Being a tom commentator isn’t that hard, all you have to do is go through your list of feed everyday…It takes time but I think it’s worth it!
As long as you follow the #1 rule of not spamming those blogs with useless posts

I agree with what you say about bringing something to the dicussion, but if you know the commentator isn’t spamming for backlinks or anything then I usually let it slide.
I am not really struggling to increase technorati authority (barely reached top 200k recently).
But I just love when I see blogs with authority of few hundreds link to me. I take it as sign that I am really catching some attention (if not traffic
) at times.
@Danny: That’s right. I usually check the domain name. If it’s a “Good post” comment and the domain is related to real estate or something like that I don’t approve it.
@Rarst: You have a pretty good Technorati authority, where’s the traffic that goes with it? I tell you Rarst, your blog’s good, people link to you, you really just need to get a little traffic then it’ll skyrocket
I have been trying to be top commentator but I guess sometimes I slack off well except when you get sick who wants to do any work.

It actually went down slightly last month. I am so not good at getting hordes of visitors.

Another good post. It is hard to get ranking anywhere. While top commentator links take time they might be worth it. Better to build your site organically.
